Debt collection: Attempts to collect debt not owed

Decided to do my first balance transfer with XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX to pay off a {$1000.00} balance with PayPals Credit provider Synchrony Bank/PPC in XX/XX/year>. Unfortunately Synchrony Bank/PPC does not do electronic balance transfers ; they want a live check to be sent to them. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX cut the first check in XX/XX/year>. Synchrony Bank/PPC told me I should wait 15 business days to allow the company to receive the check. I allowed 15 calendar days to pass by, I then contacted Synchrony Bank/PPC . Customer service told me the check was not received at the po box address they gave me. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX then cut another chek in XX/XX/year>. Synchrony Bank/PPC claimed they did not receive a check. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX then cut another check in XX/XX/year>, once again after 15 calendar days I contacted Synchrony Bank/PPC . Customer Service again said that they did receive it. This is now the third check issued out to Synchrony Bank/PPC . At this point I was frustrated so I asked Synchrony Bank/PPC to give me an address where someone is actually going to check and receive mail from the location provided. I spoke with a manager who gave me an address. The manager assured me an actual person would receive mail at this address. The po box address Synchrony Bank/PPC originally gave was not being checked on a regular basis. XXXX XXXX then cut a XXXX check in XX/XX/year>. I contacted Synchrony Bank/PPC 17 days after the check was mailed out. Synchrony Bank finally said that they received the check. The check that the company received was dated XX/XX/year>. At this point I figured everything was good and finally my account has been paid off. So I thought, I checked my PayPal application and I saw the balance at XXXX. About 5 minutes later I log back into my account again and I have a balance of {$2000.00}. Of Course I contacted the company to figure out what happened. I was told that there was a glitch in their system. The glitch in the system was in reference to the system saying that they owed me money on the account and that they were supposed to send me a check to pay me for the money that was owed to me. Ultimately, I figured it was a glitch. The issue with the {$2000.00} balance placed on my account after they applied and adjusted my balance transfer of {$1000.00} towards my account. For whatever reason Synchrony Bank/PPC sent out a total of two checks to former addresses of mine. I never received the checks. I told them this, for whatever reason they decided to hold me accountable and charge me {$2000.00} with Interest. This is unlawful and not right. I've disputed this account with them several times. The company has been nasty towards me and holds me responsible for the balance/their actions. ( two representatives processed incorrect claims in the system which then checks were generated ) I have asked the company to provide me with proof that I was responsible for the debt. As of today nothing has been provided to me as proof. I currently have a balance of {$1700.00} since I have been forced to make payments or my credit will be put at risk. They have even lowered my credit limit as a result the account now reflects past my credit limit of now {$1400.00}. They have violated my rights. I am reaching out for assistance. This has been a great strain on my finances and mental health having to go back and forth for over a year. I did not receive or cash the checks. Thank you for your time today.
