Description

I am writing to formally dispute several unauthorized credit inquiries that appear on my credit report. These inquiries were made without my knowledge or consent, in violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ), specifically 15 U.S.C. 1681b, which limits the circumstances under which a credit inquiry can be made. Under 15 U.S.C. 1681b, a credit inquiry can only be made under specific conditions, such as : I applied for credit or a loan. I consented to the inquiry in connection with employment or other transactions. I did not authorize these credit inquiries, and therefore, they must be removed from my credit report. If the companies that made these inquiries can not provide proof that I authorized them, they are obligated to remove the inquiries in compliance with the FCRA. XXXX v. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX Cir. XXXX ) : Inaccurate reporting, including unauthorized inquiries, is a violation of consumer rights and can be seen as harassment under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ). In accordance with 15 U.S.C. 1681i, I am exercising my right to dispute the accuracy of these inquiries. I request that you initiate an investigation and ensure that the credit reporting agencies verify the legitimacy of these inquiries. If they can not provide documented proof of my authorization, the inquiries must be removed from my credit report. Credit Inquiries in Dispute : Please provide me with a copy of the documentation or proof of authorization for these inquiries. If this information can not be provided, I expect the immediate removal of the inquiries, in accordance with the FCRA. What I Am Requesting : Verification of each credit inquiry listed above. Removal of any unauthorized inquiries from my credit report. Written confirmation that the unauthorized inquiries have been removed. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
