Description
I am filing a formal complaint against all three major credit reporting agenciesEquifax, Experian, and TransUnionfor multiple and ongoing violations of federal and state consumer protection laws, failure to investigate and remove fraudulent accounts and inquiries, and non-compliance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ) and other federal mandates. Despite repeated disputes submitted with supporting documents including government-issued ID, Social Security card , police reports, and proof of address, these agencies continue to report accounts that were fraudulently opened without my knowledge or consent, and failed to remove false addresses, employers, and inquiries. Violations by All Three Bureaus : Failure to Ensure Maximum Accuracy ( FCRA 607 ( b ), 15 U.S.C. 1681e ( b ) ) Reporting of false information, including accounts, balances, payment history, and employers. Failure to Investigate Disputes in a Timely Manner ( FCRA 611 ( a ) ( 1 ) ( A ) ) No resolution within the 30-day statutory timeframe. Failure to Reinvestigate Disputes ( FCRA 611 ( a ) ( 6 ) ) No meaningful reinvestigation after initial dispute challenges. Failure to Provide Debt Validation Notices ( FDCPA 809 ( a ), 15 U.S.C. 1692g ) No debt validation received within five days of initial reporting. Failure to Provide Identity Theft Support ( FCRA 1681g ( e ) ) No fraud alerts placed or resources offered for identity theft victims. Negligent Handling of Personal Data ( Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, 15 U.S.C. 68016809 ) Mishandling of sensitive personal information allowed fraudulent access. Identity Theft Protections Ignored ( 18 U.S.C. 1028 Identity Theft and Assumption Deterrence Act ) Continued reporting of known fraudulent accounts after submission of police reports. Metro 2 & CDIA Guidelines Violations Creditors and bureaus failed to update or correct inaccurate and outdated information. Florida State Law Violations ( Fla. Stat. 817.568 ) Identity theft reporting failures violate Florida statutes protecting consumers. Specific Fraudulent Accounts to Be Removed : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX This account contains inaccurate and damaging late payment information that I am formally requesting to be removed. I am not disputing ownership of the account itself at this time, but the reporting of late payments is factually incorrect and legally noncompliant. Unauthorized Credit Inquiries : To be removed and blocked under 15 U.S.C. 1681b : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX And others Incorrect Address to Be Deleted : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ( Never resided at this location ) False Employment History to Be Removed XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Requested Actions : Immediate removal and permanent blocking of all listed fraudulent accounts, inquiries, addresses, and employment entries under 15 U.S.C. 1681c-2. Full reinvestigation and deletion of all disputed data under FCRA 611 and Metro 2 standards. Implementation of extended fraud alerts and security freezes. Written confirmation of all corrections and deletions to be provided to me within 15 days. Updated credit report from all three agencies after the requested actions are completed. Supporting Documentation : I have already submitted the following to the credit bureaus, and am willing to provide to CFPB upon request : Government-issued ID Social Security Card Police Report regarding identity theft Proof of residency Conclusion : These credit reporting agencies are knowingly reporting fraudulent data despite clear proof of identity theft and repeated formal disputes. Their failure to comply with federal law is harmful to my financial standing and personal wellbeing. I am requesting CFPBs intervention to enforce immediate and permanent deletion of this fraudulent information and hold the bureaus accountable for their violations.
