Description
Hello, I contacted Chase Bank to report an unauthorized deposit of {$4000.00}, along with XXXX transactions involving withdrawals and point of sale ( POS ) purchases amounting to {$500.00}, {$80.00}, {$120.00}, and {$160.00}, all of which took place on March 20-21, 2025. While XXXXhase rejected the withdrawal and POS transactions, they did not dispute the deposit, which was made at a local ATM by an unknown individual. They indicated that the withdrawals and POS transactions were executed using my PIN & debit card, which I still have in my possession. I am confused about how my debit card could have been skimmed and cloned. I informed Chase that this situation represents identity theft, as the card remains usable for purchases despite my possession of it. I questioned why they denied the withdrawal and POS transactions but approved the ATM deposit on the same day, XX/XX/year>. Chase clarified that the deposit was flagged because I had reported it as unauthorized. However, both the deposit and the other transactions occurred on the same date. I requested access to the ATM 's video footage, but a Chase XXXX informed me that a court order would be necessary to obtain it. This appears to be an inconsistent decision by Chase, as they rejected the withdrawals and POS transactions while accepting the unauthorized ATM deposit made with my debit card. If I reported XXXX fraudulent transactions on XX/XX/year>, then Chase should have denied all XXXX, including the deposit. Please see attached transaction. Please help!
