The Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) program stimulates economic development in distressed communities by providing federal contracting preferences to small businesses located in and hiring from designated HUBZone areas. These areas include qualified census tracts, qualified non-metropolitan counties, Indian reservations, redesignated areas, qualified disaster areas, and base closure areas.
