Eligibility Requirements

• •Must be a small business per SBA size standards
• •Principal office must be located in a designated HUBZone
• •At least 35% of employees must reside in a HUBZone
• •Must be owned and controlled by U.S. citizens or a Community Development Corporation, agricultural cooperative, Alaska Native Corporation, Indian tribe, or Native Hawaiian organization
• •Must maintain HUBZone compliance throughout contract performance

Certification Process

Application submitted through SBA's HUBZone certification portal. SBA verifies principal office location via lease/deed, employee residence through addresses and HUBZone mapping, and ownership/control through organizational documents. HUBZone map tool (maps.certify.sba.gov) allows pre-application verification. Recertification required every three years with ongoing monitoring.
