Eligibility Requirements

• •Must be a small business per SBA size standards
• •At least 51% unconditionally owned by one or more veterans
• •Veteran must control day-to-day management and long-term decision-making
• •Veteran status documented by DD-214 (honorable or general discharge)
• •Veteran must hold the highest officer position or have equivalent control

Certification Process

For VA contracts, verification through VA's CVE program via VetBiz portal. SBA also offers VOSB certification through VetCert. Application includes DD-214 discharge documentation, ownership documents, articles of incorporation or operating agreement, and evidence of veteran management control. Processing time varies from 60-120 days.
