How to Obtain

Foreign entities request NCAGE codes through their national codification bureau (NCB). For countries without an NCB, requests can be submitted through the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA). U.S.-based companies that need to do business with NATO or allied nations may also need an NCAGE code, obtainable through DLA's CAGE program office.

Contracting Relevance

Required for foreign entities seeking U.S. defense contracts, participating in NATO cooperative programs, or supplying items cataloged in the NATO Codification System. NCAGE codes appear in international defense contracts, logistics data, and the Federal Logistics Information System (FLIS). They are essential for Foreign Military Sales cases and international subcontracting under U.S. prime contracts.
