Description
SI2 Technologies, Inc. (SI2) proposes to leverage and further improve upon its successful Phase I effort to enable new mission capabilities on Small Unmanned Aerial Systems (SUAS) and attritable platforms by developing a family of flexible, scalable antenna systems with integral pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA). SI2 will demonstrate both reusable peel-and-stick antennas, as well as permanently attachable antennas incorporating an Artificial Magnetic Conductor (AMC) surface to enable use on both conductive (e.g. metal or carbon fiber composite) surfaces as well as non-conductive surfaces. SI2 will manufacture a family of antennas covering 300 MHz to 6000 MHz with both reusable integral adhesive and a permanent integral adhesive and will mature the technology via thorough RF and environmental testing, including flight testing. In Phase II, SI2 will refine and optimize our antenna design and manufacturing approach and increase TRL/MRL via fabricating multiple prototypes, extensive RF and environmental testing including a flight test and performing a robust Design for Manufacturing Assessment (DFMA) to refine the low-cost manufacturing process. SI2 anticipates demonstrating TRL/MRL 7 at the conclusion of the Phase II effort.
