Description

What are we looking for? Must have four years experience that demonstrates knowledge of chemical coding systems, classification storage and disposal of hazardous materials. Must have the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Must have good customer service skills. Ability to operate office machines, such as personal computers and calculators in order to accomplish daily operations; knowledge of automated computer data base systems; to input, retrieve, sort, and manipulate data to facilitate work. Must be able to select and set up storage locations for non-compatible hazardous waste materials.. What to Expect: Represents MCCS on all safety and environmental measures to the host installation and external inspectors. Responsible for developing and implementing a risk management program that includes, but not limited to: asbestos, automatic external defibrillators (AEDs), electrical safety, ergonomics, fall protection, fire safety, hazardous materials, hearing conservation, industrial hygiene, lock out/tag out, occupational safety and health, respirator protection, confined space entry, machine guarding, material handling equipment, pesticide management and environmental programs. Responsible for completion of all safety and environmental inspections and takes immediate corrective action whenever work/patron safety is compromised. Prepares comprehensive reports such as, but not limited to: employee/patron accidents; hazardous material information; safety and fire inspections; playground inspections; special event inspections. Serves as Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) Fire Marshall. Supervises employees to include assigning and distributing work, coaching, counseling, tutoring, and mentoring employees; approving and disapproving leave, recommending and completing personnel actions, disciplinary actions, completing performance reviews, signing timesheets, training employees, keeping abreast of and actively supporting the principles of the EEO program, and prevention of sexual harassment. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs may be required.. Organization: U.S. Marine Corps. Location: Jacksonville, North Carolina, North Carolina.
