Definition
FedRAMP Authorization is the formal approval for a cloud service provider to operate in the federal environment. Two paths: Agency Authorization (sponsored by a single agency) and JAB Authorization (reviewed by the Joint Authorization Board — DoD, DHS, GSA). JAB authorization is more rigorous but provides broader reuse across agencies.
