About Coast Guard Contracting

The U.S. Coast Guard is the nation's oldest continuous seagoing service, responsible for maritime safety, security, and environmental stewardship. Coast Guard contracting covers a wide range of needs including vessel maintenance, aircraft support, search and rescue equipment, aids to navigation, port security technology, and environmental response capabilities.

The Coast Guard is organized into 9 districts, each managing sectors, stations, air stations, and bases within their geographic area. The Coast Guard Yard in Baltimore is the service's sole shipyard, performing major vessel maintenance and construction. Training Centers at Cape May, Yorktown, and Petaluma drive procurement in education technology and simulation systems.
