Definition

DD Form 254 (Contract Security Classification Specification) tells a contractor what level of classified access is required for a contract. Issued by the government, it specifies: classification level (Confidential, Secret, Top Secret), whether a facility clearance is needed, special access requirements (SCI, SAP), and security requirements for subcontractors. Required before any classified work begins.
